Double Security - Skin Tolerance Test and Toxin Test

Double security - This is what the test method of the Society for the Promotion of Skin-Tolerant Textiles offers. As the most important fundamental for the awarding of the seal of approval, the Society tests the skin tolerance on the final product. Additionally the tests methods from other testing institutes are also conducted. The combination produces the strictest standards known.

Skin tolerance test

  • Transfer of substances
    which under wearing conditions would cross over from the textile to the skin in a special gel.
  • Cytotoxicity test
    Evaluation of the effect of detaching substances on connective tissue cells.
  • Keratinocyte test
    If the cytotoxicity test doesn't show a damaging effect on the cells the keratinocyte test is effected additionally. Here if necessary the detached substances are brought in contact with living skin cells.


Toxin test

Modern chemical analysis tests the compliance of all statutory limits for toxins.
